A shortcode is a WordPress-specific code that lets you do nifty things with very little effort.

Shortcodes can embed files or create objects that would normally require lots of complicated, ugly code in just one line. Shortcode = shortcut.

Shortcode	Application
Certificate	Include name, time spent, earned score, average score across all quizzes, etc.
Enrollment	Use this shortcode to place the Take This Course button anywhere.
Course List	Display courses by category, assigned courses, and more.
Progress	Use this shortcode to display a user’s progress anywhere.
Visitor	Displays a custom course message for non-enrolled users.
Student	Displays custom content on any page to users of a specific course.
Group	Displays custom content on any page to users who are part of a specific group.
Complete	Displays a custom message for those who completed a course. Perfect for providing “next steps” or for cross-selling your other courses.
Expiration	Displays the date and time a user loses access to a course.
Profile	Displays front-end profile (see “My Profile” menu item for example).
